  • Pastor Appreciation Dinner

What to do for Pastors to show they are appreciated?

    DSCN9188resized DSCN9186resized

But of course –Give them something to eat, That is even Biblical.

    DSCN9193resized

When you meet and eat you must pray a prayer of Thanksgiving. Roger Swartzentruber took care of that.

Lois Smoker is happy about something Dick and Ruth at far end of table are enjoying themselves also.

Its evident that our pastors have some very young prolific parents. So the congregation is spread from young to old.

  • Lynnelle And A Puzzle

It interesting different things people like to do, For Instance my wife liked to put together a puzzle–My-self I would be just as contented watching paint dry.

    DSCN9185resizedDSCN9140resized

I have discovered that the lady that is waiting patiently for her guide Husband to return home also enjoys putting a puzzle together.

    DSCN9142resized

    Lynnelle Mellinger

Found a puzzle under a shelf out in the green room and on different evening would sit and work on the puzzle.

    DSCN9182resized

Here is Lynnelle on two different evening working on this puzzle

    DSCN9183resized

I actually went over last evening and put in a few pieces of the puzzle after returning from the Yoder C Center listening to John Schmid tribute of Johnie Cash.

The above picture shows Lynnelle putting in the last piece of the Puzzle.

As we left in the morning the sun was showing some of the Creator’s handy-work.

  • TOO BIG FOR LITTLE FIELDS

Back in 1983 at the age of 47 I sold my half  of a growing thriving company called Nanticoke Homes. With a new 1983 Chev  Conversion Van Inez and I headed west towing a small trailer hauling a Honda Goldwing 1200 cc motor cycle. As we drove through Pasco Washington we seen a number of combines with  40′ cutting heads on them. Well last week as my friend and I road over some back roads  on my Trike we seen a big red rig that had just put on a 40′ cutting head to harvest some of his 5000 acres of corn and soy beans.

    DSCN9126resized

Now out west in a 1000 acre field a 40′ head didn’t look as big as it did to me the other night in a 40 acre field where he started combining.

    DSCN9122resized

It was to dark to get a decent picture;;:(

    DSCN9127resizedDSCN9128resized

    DSCN9123resized

It looks quite impressive to stand behind the rig and see a 40′ swath going down through the field.

Really the trailer is for the combine head not the man;;;;;;;)):>

New Ford F-150 I wanted you to see the tool box on this pickup but they didn’t show up. They were the best I ever saw.

    DSCN9135resized

At our Church camp this year to help pay the expensive there was a auction. I bought this beautiful apron that Delores Mast made, The other night Lois and I were invited to eat supper with Lynnelle Mellinger & her friend Ebony Tindley– Lynnelle modled the apron, I thought it really looked good on her.

  • THE SAW MILL READY FOR ACTION

Two weeks ago tomorrow I came home after spending almost 9 weeks in the hospital and rehab.

    DSCN9116resized

One of the things I was anxious to see was the new Saw Mill that had been purchased while I was away.

    DSCN9119resized

I was unable to get a very good picture because it was almost dark.

    DSCN9120resized

This mill can saw a log that is 39 inches in diameter up to 25 feet long I believe. It is still on a trial mode.  You know you need to learn what all the levers do.

    DSCN9121resized

The mill is owned by–You know I’m not exactly sure about all the details so I best not say till I have all the facts. See what I mean about levers??

    DSCN9118resized

Here are some of the logs that are ready for the mill– Some of the bigger ones may have come from the redwoods of CA

  • A Look At Church Camp

Sept 27th ” was the beginning of the Annual Church week-end outing– (Blast)  I did not get there Friday evening for the Famous

game of pitching Horse-shoe or Corn-hole –Or simply sit under the shade tree and visit.

Julie is really into this thing of making Roses.

    DSCN9083resized - Copy - Copy DSCN9085resized

I found it very interesting just to go around to the various tables and see what was going on///?

    DSCN9103resized DSCN9102resized

—Matt on the left looks deep in thought before laying down his triple    Don’t know if I would bet on that hand or not??

Lee Sverduk holding Elliet looks like he has an advantage –Go 4 it.

    DSCN9101resized DSCN9099resized

Different expression of different folks will give you a challenge to figure out what one might be thinking.

    DSCN9097resized DSCN9096resized

The puzzled look on Dawn face tells me she needs something??– Sure glad I don’t need to figure out what.

The other table — Well They are all in there own little world.

    DSCN9095resized DSCN9100resized

Caitlin so proud of herself for making such beautiful roses.

There were some mighty fine Wreaths made over the weekend.

    DSCN9088resized DSCN9086resized

I Thought Maria’s nose pressed against the little guys head was so cute.

On the right were–(I think)–the makings of Christmas balls for trees?

    DSCN9084resized - Copy DSCN9084resized - Copy - Copy

Those roses were really pretty — They would go on the Wreaths.

    DSCN9080resized DSCN9081resized

Sara Jane- Wava–Chris they were also into the wreaths project.

The Puzzle table — Me and puzzles `eh-huh  I’d sooner watch paint dry.

    DSCN9076resized - Copy - Copy

    Del Swartzentruber

He must be working on something for the evening– He is so good at that kind of thing.

    DSCN9110resized

Someone was resting on the floor under one of the tables that held all the items that were to be sold at the auction

later that evening– Not sure what that has to do with the Church Camp– sure there must be something.

    DSCN9111resized DSCN9112resized

John Mills was the auctioneer and for the last item he needed someone–(Jeff Shiery) to come to his aid.

Johnny Mills antics really added to the auction.
